EDUCATION

Tropiflora’s Management joins Agronomists, Soil Scientists and Horticulturists. Regular Training and Awareness programs are essential to pass on knowledge and develop young talents.

WATER MANAGEMENT

At Tropiflora water, as the source of all life, is preserved by water tanks, yielded by tube and dug wells, saved by drip irrigation. We try to save as much as possible of the precious and cool wet.

INTEGRATED PEST MANAGEMENT

It is a fact that every application of synthetic pesticides slows down the growth rate of plants considerably. Where others spray, our smart strategies can even involve the collection of larger insects with big damaging potential. At Tropiflora we use mainly organic agents such as garlic, neem and soaps with great success. These natural products do not harm beneficial organisms with big appetite for the targeted pests.

SOIL MANAGEMENT

A large compost yard and soil mixture facility, fueled by the bio-waste from the packing hall, enables us to nourish our plants mainly by application of organic material. Trichoderma strenghtens our plants and increases their nutrient absorption. For more complex problems such as weeds and nemathodes we use handwork or steam as weapons of choice instead of chemicals.

RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT

Tropiflora’s own lab is equipped with photometer, lysimeter, microscope, stereo microscope, ph and ec field meters and weather stations, which allow us to resolve problems with a scientifical approach.In the past years many students have been attracted to do their thesis by this spirit and top notch equipment.

RESIDUES

Regularly conducted residue analysis confirm that our greens are free of the common problematic red flagged agents, such as Acephate and Neonicotinoids
